Pixel Launcher Testing New Features in Android 11
When Google released the Android eleven Programmer Preview last week, nosotros didn't notice whatsoever major changes in its default launcher, the Pixel Launcher. At present, all the same, one of the lead developers of popular third-party Android launcher Lawnchair has managed to enable a scattering of features Google is working to integrate into its Pixel Launcher.
According to a study from XDA Developers, the new features that we could be seeing in Pixel launcher include bottom actions in recent apps, the option to remove app suggestions in the app drawer, and name prediction for new folders.
In the recent apps screen, we come across 3 new actions namely "select", "screenshot", and "share". The select activeness is intended to make it easier to re-create the content seen in the contempo apps overview cards. The report notes that the select action was not functional yet.
Equally the proper noun suggests, the screenshot action captures a screenshot of the previously used app and the Share button takes a screenshot and opens the share sheet so that you can easily share it with your peers.
Google's suggested apps section is often considered to be a useful feature for jumping correct into your favorite apps. All the same, every bit it is with most car learning features, sometimes the feature could suggest unwanted apps. Well, Google is finally working on a "Don't suggest app" action to hide apps in the suggested apps section. The option appears when the user long-presses on any of the suggested apps.
The software giant is also working on a feature that automatically names a new binder based on the type of apps nowadays. This way, you no longer have to accept the efforts to name new folders.
With all that said, do annotation that there is no guarantee if all these features would ever get in to the final iteration of Pixel Launcher. Nosotros will have to wait to run into if any of these features gets reflected in the upcoming developer previews and beta builds before the stable build releases in the third quarter of 2020.
